Nor-X™ Degradable
Nor-X Industry AS is carrying out an extensive research, development and documentation (RD&D) program both to develop and protect new technologies and products and to document the products.

Nor-X™ Degradable has been documented to degrade polyethylene (LLDPE, LDPE and HDPE) and polypropylene (PP) both in the environment (as garbage refuse outdoors) and with sunlight exposure.

Nor-X Industry AS is conducting a testing program in collaboration with the Swedish Technical Research Institute in Borås to document the degradation properties of Nor-X™ Degradable in a range of plastics and environmental conditions.

Nor-X Industry AS has together with EmballasjereturFolldal Gjenvinning , Norfolier and Sintef materials and chemistry made tests to show that up to 6% of degradable polyethylene plastic can be added to recycling without any problems (reported 2006).

This study has been extended to add up to 80% degradable plastic to the process. The results demonstrate that adding up to 80% Nor-X degradable plastic to the process does not negatively influence the full scale industrial recycling process nor the material product properties from recycling. In fact dart drop seems to be improved in products manufactured from recycled material with Nor-X™ Degradable.

In this effort Nor-X Industry AS is also communicating with Canadian experts to ensure that similar tests made in Canada and the tests made with Nor-X™ Degradable can be cross-referenced.

Nor-X Industry AS is collaborating with several companies to study the use of Nor-X™ Degradable and Nor-X™ Strength in products produced from recycled materials.
