History
Nor-X Industry AS was founded in 2003. Mr. Kåre Roger Rødseth and Mr. Emil Arne Kleppe had founded Normors AS to develop and commercialise an idea that they had about producing more aesthetic chin collars for the deceased. The idea for such a chin collar came from their own experience seeing of a picture of Mother Theresa with a white band around her head as a chin collar. They designed a userfriendly and 'hidden' Chin collar in plastic.

Born from a chin collar

Unfortunately, or fortunately, all that is burried needs to dissapear/degrade within 20 years. Normors AS therefore needed to find a plastic that would degrade. This was not commercially available. Normors AS, with support from Innovation Norway, local authorities (Sande Kommune) and Sintef Unimed and Sintef Materials and Chemistry started research to make a plastic that would degrade. The result of this work was an invention that when added to injection molded plastic made it degrade in the required environment in the required time. This was the technological foundation for Nor-X Industry AS.

In 2003 Mr. Kleppe and Mr. Rødseth established Nor-X Industry AS with the headquarters in Gursken in Sande municipality. Since 2003 Nor-X Industry AS has built a versatile production facility with currently four reactors to produce Nor-X Degradable™ and the other products spawning from the technology platform. In this work Dr. Ferdinand Männle from Sintef Materials and Chemistry has been instrumental.

Normors AS is currently exporting chin collars to 15 countries world wide and now Nor-X Industry AS is entering the growing market for degradable plastic products.

Nor-X™ Degradable technology is the basis of a unique best selling product with biodegradable properties - the NorMors Chin collar.

In march 2008 Nor-X Degradable changed productname to Renatura™.
